We believe that truly impactful children's literature is the result of a focus on the smallest of details. It is in the inclusion of specific words and details woven into the book that connects a fictional story to a real community.

In order to do this, we lean on the talent and experiences of our creatives. When selecting manuscripts, we require that authors are connected to their stories through personal experience. Each illustrator is carefully selected based on the community portrayed in the manuscript so as to capture its essence through art.

We are ethically opposed to the use of artificial intelligence in the creative process. We believe that storytelling is an inherently human experience, and delegating story craft and artistic expression to AI tools contradicts our fundamental reason to be in this industry.
