Wholesale Purchasing Policy

Please read our wholesale policies before setting up a wholesale account with us.

Thank you for your interest in carrying titles from Sambasivan & Parikh. As a small independent publisher, we value thoughtful partnerships and aim to work closely with community organization, bookstores and specialty retailers who share our passion for impactful books.

1. Eligibility

Wholesale accounts are available to:

  • Independent brick-and-mortar bookstores
  • Specialty gift shops and boutiques
  • Museum and gallery shops
  • Educational institutions, including after school and daycare, and libraries
  • Select online retailers (upon approval)
  • Community association and organizations 

All wholesale accounts must provide business name and contact details. We reserve the right to request a valid resale certificate or tax ID to determine tax-exempt status. We reserve the right to approve or decline any application.

Important: Resellers are responsible for having the necessary vending permits and collecting and remitting sales tax to the appropriate authorities.

2. Wholesale Discount & Pricing

  • Standard Wholesale Discount: 40% off MSRP
  • MSRP is printed on each book and must not be altered.
  • Prices are subject to change without notice.

Because we are a small publisher with limited print runs, margins are carefully structured. We appreciate retailers maintaining pricing integrity.

3. Minimum Order Requirements

To qualify for free shipping:

  • Opening Order Minimum: $150
  • Reorder Minimum: $100
  • Minimum of 3 copies per title
  • Orders below minimums may be canceled or adjusted.

4. Ordering

Once the account is approved, orders may be placed:

  • Through our website by logging in with an approved email
  • By email: sales at sambasivanandparikh.com

Please allow:

  • 3–5 business days for processing
  • Additional time during new releases or peak seasons

You will receive an invoice or confirmation once your order is reviewed.

5. Payment Terms

  • First orders: Prepayment required
  • Reorders: Credit card, ACH, or Net 30 (upon approval)

Payment must be received before shipment unless approved for terms. Late payments may result in suspension of wholesale privileges.

6. Shipping

  • Orders ship from: Niskayuna, NY or Clifton Park, NY
  • Shipping charges are calculated at checkout or invoiced separately
  • Estimated delivery: 3–10 business days depending on location. We cannot be responsible for carrier delays. 
  • If ordering for an event, please specify a delivery deadline in the order notes.

7. Damages & Returns

As a small independent press, we are generally non-returnable in order to maintain sustainable operations. However, we accept damaged items for return if the following conditions are met: 

  • Must be reported within 7 days of receipt
  • Photo documentation required
  • Replacements or credit issued upon approval. We handle damage claims promptly and fairly.

8. Online Sales & Marketplace Policy

To protect our authors and brand:

  • Books may not be sold on Amazon, Walmart Marketplace, eBay, or other third-party marketplaces.
  • Online retailers must sell at MSRP unless approved.
  • Product descriptions and images must remain accurate and unaltered.

Violation may result in account termination.

9. Marketing & Promotional Support

We’re happy to support our retail partners with digital sell sheets, high-resolution cover images, author event coordination (when available), and social media cross-promotion. Please contact us for available marketing materials.

10. Exclusivity

We do not offer territorial exclusivity by default. However, we are open to discussing special arrangements with retailers who commit to strong ongoing support and minimum annual purchases.

11. Account Termination

We reserve the right to terminate wholesale accounts for:

  • Violation of pricing policy
  • Unauthorized marketplace selling
  • Non-payment
  • Misrepresentation of our products
